About Power & Data Management (PDM)
Position Overview
You will own PDM’s Energy vertical—utilities, oil & gas, EV infrastructure, and renewables—selling transformers, switchgear, and critical power equipment into the projects driving the energy transition.
We are hiring two Account Managers into this vertical. You will bring existing energy-sector relationships and convert them into pipeline quickly, backed by lead times that win deals.
What You’ll Do
- Own and grow a strategic book of business across the Energy segment:
- Utilities: IOUs, munis, co-ops, and transmission & distribution programs
- Oil & Gas: upstream, midstream, downstream, and refining
- EV: charging infrastructure, depots, and fleet electrification
- Renewables: solar, wind, battery storage, and clean power
- Sell PDM’s critical power portfolio—transformers, switchgear, breakers, and distribution equipment—into new and existing energy accounts.
- Activate and expand key customer relationships you already hold within the energy sector.
- Develop segment-specific sales strategies and go-to-market campaigns.
- Interpret one-line diagrams and MEP drawings and perform accurate material takeoffs.
- Track customer specifications, project timelines, and utility technical requirements.
- Lead customer presentations, proposal reviews, and on-site meetings.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, quoting, and factory teams to scope and deliver.
- Attend industry trade shows, customer site visits, and facility tours
- Maintain CRM for pipeline tracking and forecasting.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of critical power sales experience selling critical power equipment and/or transformers.
- Key customer relationships with Energy customers — Utilities, Oil & Gas, EV, or Renewables — that you can activate on day one.
- Deep familiarity with at least one Energy sub-segment and credibility across the others.
- Ability to read electrical one-lines, takeoffs, and construction drawings.
- Proven ability to lead complex, long-cycle deals with technical decision makers.
- CRM fluency (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or HubSpot).
- Based in Texas or on the East Coast, with willingness to travel up to 50%.
Why Join PDM?
- Competitive Base salary + uncapped commission structure
- Full benefits package (Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k) match, PTO, parental leave)
- Be a key player in high-growth sectors, like data infrastructure and energy transition
- Work within a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture with strong cross-functional support
- Shape the go-to-market strategy in your vertical and make an industry-wide impact
