Capabilities

Solid State Transformers (SSTs) represent a new generation of power conversion equipment surpassing traditional solutions in efficiency, volume and flexibility. SSTs reduce system footprint by approximately 60%, shorten installation time by about 70% and improve energy efficiency up to 97.9%. PDM offers XD Solid State Transformers which are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with industry standards to meet or exceed IEC and IEEE, as applicable. 

This SST power supply system has undergone four generations of innovation and has now evolved into a high-frequency isolated modular cascade topology, representing a true power-electronics transformer product.

The medium-voltage direct DC supply breaks through traditional designs by eliminating components such as low-frequency power transformers and phase-shifting transformers. It offers leading advantages including high standardization, high integration, high efficiency, high reliability, rapid deployment, and flexible scalability. At the same time, its low cost and high expandability significantly reduces the difficulty of deploying 800VDC backplane architectures. It can also be easily iterated into various “energy routers” that integrate different types of new energy sources including renewables and fuel cells, according to user requirements.

Module Redundancy:
The system is designed with three redundant module groups (one per phase). During normal operation, the redundant modules remain in hot standby. In the event of a module failure, the bypasses the faulty module without affecting overall system operation.
